Creative Breaks and Self-Catering Holidays at Yarner 2008

Creative Break or Self-Catering?

Our Creative Breaks are designed for you to get the best from our unique location. Enjoy staying in our heritage buildings with other like minded people and learn exciting new skills. The price includes a help-yourself breakfast, lunches and Saturday night’s evening meal, and all tuition and trips. However, if you'd rather do your own thing, why not rent our historic buildings for a real get-away?

The Choice is Yours
Enjoy the flexibility of choosing from rural skills workshops to visiting the cobbled fishing village of Clovelly, surfing and sandy beaches of North Devon or stunning woodland and coastal walks.

Location – Welcombe, North Devon
Escape to this hidden gem – a remote, historical village nestling within a wild and dramatic coastal  landscape on the border of North Devon and Cornwall.

Just one mile from the sea at Welcombe Mouth, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and  secluded within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Welcombe offers the complete escape.

We’ll share with you our intimate knowledge of this unique landscape, allowing you to enjoy the very best that North Devon has to offer.

Retreats
The Yarner Trust has successfully hosted several Retreats. If you would like to bring a group to enjoy a peaceful location in our heritage buildings within a mile of the sea, why not contact us for more information?

Ecology and Conservation in the Wild

Geology, rockpooling, culm grasslands and Lundy

Learn about the geology of Welcombe and enjoy rock pooling. Witness the effects of grazing on the ecology of culm grasslands, home of the rare Marsh Fritillary butterfly. A trip to Lundy offers seabird and seal watching. Then wander up the Marsland Valley in search of its own special scientific interest.
