The Yarner trust is a registered charity, dedicated to educating people to live a more sustainable way of life. The Trust was originally set up in 1978 as a living model for family scale self-reliance, based upon sustainable organic husbandry and food production. These early days formed the foundation for what the Trust is today – an educational charity, dedicated to promoting the importance of living in harmony with the environment. Volunteering is a key part of the work we do at the Yarner Trust and we regularly hold regular specialist days where you can come and learn new skills and meet like-minded people. The next volunteer day is on Saturday September 22nd.

The newly merged Resurgence & Ecologist magazine is delighted to announce the launch of a new international Nature Writing essay competition for 2013, which we are part of alongside three ‘sister’ charities that share a similar ethos and have strong links with Devon.
